Mikel Arteta is nearing a return to action.
The Spaniard has been missing so far this season for Arsenal but he could now be back in action in a fortnight.
Arteta’s last appearance was in the final match of this campaign’s preseason against Manchester City where he sustained a torn quadricep.
But in an interview with Talk Sport radio today, the 31-year-old has revealed that he is only “one to two weeks away” from a return to fitness.
That will be welcome news for an Arsenal side which despite the addition of Mesut Ozil, remains depleted with Tomas Rosicky and Yaya Sanogo the latest names to join Thomas Vertmaelen, Abou Diaby, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski on the injury list.
